Before elaborating on the statement I chose, I wanted to comment on Emily's post. I totally agree with her that people have a intriguing infatuation with trying to test boundaries. I also believe that many people want to disregard normal law just to see how much they can get away with before getting caught. Also in response to Amanda's post, I believe that mostly women show emotions, but this is not necessarily always true because there are many men out there who also show plenty of emotion and definitely express themselves.
Anyways, moving on to question # 23. In my opinion it is extremely normal to like certain people over others. Everyone has their own opinions as well as their likes and dislikes which makes up the kind of person they are. It is almost natural for people to relate and enjoy the company of others who share their opinions and ideals. For example, many students in high school are part of different cliques. These so called cliques are formed by people with similar interests. Having certain ideals also plays a role in whether or not you like someone. There are many pessimistic people in our world and some people are okay with this while many others dislike them and try to avoid people with negative attitudes. Personally, I am optimistic and because of this it is natural for me to like happy people while dislike people who don't think positively.
Personality and mutual likes also play a huge role in whether or not you like someone or not. An example of this would be what happened today, Twilight vs. Harry Potter fans. Many people who like one over the other tend to also like people who share this opinion and totally dislike other people just because they had liked the other thing. Perception is also another way that influences whether or not we like someone. We are all human and some of us are open minded, but in the end we tend to stick to our own beliefs and this is why we like certain people. In the end, it is pretty obvious, in my opinion, that it is normal to like some people and dislike others because of our different ideals and also over insignificent things that make up who we are as an individual.
