What does the "right to think" mean to you? First Post

Before reading the play, I have thought about the concept of having the right to think on several occasions. As stated before, everyone has the right to their own opinions because everyone has a different perspective on things. It can be about something as controversial as the case in this play to your opinion about the cover of a book. Sometimes in life, you feel strongly about certain topics and you always wonder why you think that way or can you justify your opinions

Last year I read "!981" and "Fahrenheit 451" and it made me feel really happy that I am able to think whatever I want. As Karen stated, many places in the world face hardships regarding their right to think. Some countries such as North Korea have censorship and because of this many of their people remain ignorant of the world around them. The play has affected my way of thinking about this concept by giving me more faith in my idea that everyone has the right to think for themselves. Many people do think for themselves, but are unable to say it out load because it may lead to severe consequences. Brady mentioned that no one can make you think anything, but I believe that not allowing people to speak their mind is still wrong.

After reading Inherit the Wind, I was able to think more depth about the "right to think" and also the right to voice your own opinions, not always just what people want to hear.
